EECC Department Welcomed New Students of the Fall Semester August 2020

The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Change (EECC), SERD, AIT, welcomed all the new students joining the fall semester with a special Hybrid Orientation Program on 4th August 2020. The hybrid session was organized at the Milton E. Bender Auditorium, AIT, following proper social distancing criteria. More than 40 new students joined the event in-person and another 40 overseas students attended the event virtually from their home countries viz. Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Liberia, and Vietnam. EECC faculty members and staff also joined the event.

The program started with a welcome note and a brief introduction of EECC department by Dr. P. Abdul Salam, Head of the Department. Dr. Salam talked about EECC Department’s mission, the courses offered, the laboratory, and other facilities available at the department. Prof. Shobhakar Dhakal, Dean of School of Environment Resources and Development (SERD) highlighted AIT infrastructure and the enormous career as well as research scopes of various programs offered at the school. All faculty members and staff of the EECC Department self-introduced themselves & welcomed the new students.

The program continued with an interactive, self-introductory session for the new students. The students enthusiastically participated in the session and introduced themselves. Overseas students also took part in this session virtually.

Our laboratory staff introduced EECC Laboratory facilities to the new students. A virtual tour of EECC Laboratories was arranged for the online attendees of the event.

It was indeed a great day for all of us. We thank everyone for joining us on this great event and bestow our best wishes to all the new students for a new beginning.
