The MSc Program in Regenerative Sanitation focuses on the delivery of non-sewered sanitation services in the context of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The course seeks women and men from diverse backgrounds in acknowledgement of the diversity and complexity of challenges in urban and rural sanitation worldwide.
This is a unique, accredited and internationally recognized program, designed for completion in 12 months. The program, is based at Environmental Engineering and Management Program in The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Change (EECC), School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD), with thesis work. This demand-driven and practice orientated program will yield graduates with fundamental understanding and knowledge, as well as the skills necessary for creating impact. The generic skills development is embedded from the start, through individual coaching and tailored guidance.
An increasing demand for M.Sc. graduate is widely notified from most developing countries. Campaign on “Open Defecation Free” has been implementing in several countries including India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Vietnam, Indonesia, etc. whereby a gigantic need for sanitation professionals/experts has been created. For instance, World Bank has earmarked its grant for sanitation projects in Bangladesh of about 100 million USD where governmental sectors and local consultants require well-trained graduates on sanitation. Not limiting to Asian countries, there are upcoming sanitation-related projects in Africa and Latin America that also require sanitation professionals.
